Reports to:American Marketing Director

We are seeking an Editorial Product Manager to help shape an upcoming digital platform documenting the people, ideas, movements, and resources that influence interior design.

You will determine how the platform’s editorial products, sections, formats, and resources should work together. You will establish priorities and standards, guide improvements to the audience experience, and coordinate the specialists responsible for editorial, design, marketing, and technical execution.

This role combines editorial judgment with product thinking. You will not be expected to write every article or perform every production task yourself. Instead, you will provide direction, set informed priorities, and ensure that work moves from concept through publication with a clear purpose and consistent quality.

You will also guide the use of AI across editorial operations, helping teams work faster while ensuring human judgment, taste, credibility, and authority remain central.

What You’ll Work On

  • Shape the direction and priorities of the platform’s editorial products
  • Develop and improve how different content formats, sections, and resources work together
  • Organize content so audiences can discover, understand, and explore related subjects more easily
  • Define clear principles and standards that guide editorial production and publication
  • Coordinate editorial, design, marketing, and technical teams from planning through launch
  • Use audience needs, discovery patterns, qualitative feedback, and performance data to guide product improvements
  • Introduce practical uses of AI across research synthesis, content organization, structured data, editorial workflows, and quality control

You’ll be encouraged to:

  • Identify new editorial products or platform experiences worth developing
  • Recommend what should be prioritized, improved, postponed, or discontinued
  • Find better ways to connect content and make the platform more useful to different audiences
  • Help teams work with clearer priorities, responsibilities, and expectations
  • Protect the platform’s credibility, consistency, and distinctive editorial identity

Tools & Technical Mastery

Strong candidates demonstrate proficiency in:

  • Editorial product planning and digital publishing
  • Organizing complex information into clear formats, categories, and relationships
  • Product prioritization, roadmap planning, and project coordination
  • Website analytics, audience behavior, and performance reporting
  • Digital content discovery, internal linking, structured content, and foundational search principles
  • Content management systems and publishing environments
  • Cross-functional project management and documentation

Strong candidates typically:

  • Have at least 5 years of experience in editorial product management, digital publishing, content strategy, information architecture, media, or a related field
  • Have helped shape a publication, content platform, digital resource, or structured content program
  • Demonstrate strong editorial judgment without needing to personally produce every piece of content
  • Can organize large bodies of information into useful and understandable audience experiences
  • Can set priorities, explain decisions, and guide cross-functional work through completion
  • Understand how editorial quality, audience needs, information structure, discovery, and user experience influence one another
  • Are comfortable reviewing performance data and using it to recommend improvements
  • Communicate clearly and professionally in English
  • Can work independently while maintaining visibility and alignment with leadership
  • Have an interest in interior design, architecture, culture, luxury, or visually driven publishing, preferably

A related bachelor’s or master’s degree is preferred, but practical experience and demonstrated ownership are valued more highly than a specific degree.

What You’ll Gain

  • The opportunity to shape the editorial foundation of an emerging institution
  • Ownership of editorial-product priorities, structures, and audience experience
  • Cross-functional leadership experience across editorial, design, marketing, and technology
  • The opportunity to build products and standards with long-term institutional value
  • Performance-based financial upside and professional development

How We Evaluate Fit

We care less about formal titles and more about:

  • Your ability to define and prioritize valuable editorial products
  • Your approach to organizing complex information for different audiences
  • Your experience guiding cross-functional initiatives through completion
  • Your understanding of digital publishing, audience behavior, information architecture, discovery, and analytics
  • Your ability to establish clear standards and decision criteria
  • Your judgment when integrating AI into editorial operations

The process includes:

  • Résumé or LinkedIn profile review
  • A short video introduction
  • A conversation focused on editorial-product thinking, audience experience, prioritization, and cross-functional leadership
  • A paid practical assignment
